Memory Cafe Friday, February 14 at the Library

The Memory Cafe is held on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month in the lower level Board Room of the Library. Individuals living with dementia, along with their caregivers, are invited to join our Memory Cafe. State submits Implementation Plan outlining steps for improving the delivery of responsive, effective mental and behavioral health care services for childrenLast Friday, a federal court preliminarily approved a Settlement Agreement in a class action lawsuit brought against the Director of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (Iowa HHS) to ensure that children with mental health disabilities receive the legally required and medically necessary mental health care services they need when and where they need them, without being segregated from their loved ones and communities.

UnityPoint/St. Luke’s Foundation Accepting Applications for Rural Health Grants

UnityPoint Health - St. Luke’s Foundation is accepting applications for its Rural Healthcare Grant Program, which provides matching grant funds towards health care services for rural residents living in Benton, Buchanan, Cedar, Delaware, Iowa, northern Johnson, Jones and Linn counties. Virginia Gay Hospital Blood Drive January 24

On Friday, January 24, from 11:45-3:30 p.m. there will be a blood drive at the Virginia Gay Hospital Clinic Conference Room. The hospital is located at 502 N. 9th Ave. in Vinton. Did you know that every two seconds in America, someone urgently needs blood? This need extends beyond unexpected emergencies like car crashes, encompassing a wide range of medical treatments such as cancer therapies, cardiovascular and orthopedic surgeries, and organ and bone marrow transplants.

Red Cross Blood Drive January 23, 12-5:00 p.m.

The next  American Red Cross blood drive will be Thursday, January 23rd from 12-5 at the skate center. Please call 1-800- RED-CROSS  to register or go to redcrossblood.org. Everyone that gives will be entered into a chance to win Super Bowl tickets. It only takes about an hour to save a life.
